Speaker and Other Informational Meetings Physics Society holds speaker meetings (about one per month) where a member of the physics department is invited to give an hour long talk about their research or any other random interesting physics things. The talks are informal and audience-friendly so that anyone, ranging from freshman to grad student, can find them interesting and understandable. Some of the other informational meetings we hold include discussions of undergraduate research, life in grad school, etc. Click on the picture to see a list of previous talks and speakers. |

Lunch Meetings with Colloquium Speakers In past years we have often been able to have weekly lunch meetings with the Thursday physics colloquium speakers. We haven't gotten this going in the past few years, but we hope to start this up again if there is sufficient interest. This is a great opportunity for students to get a brief summary of the colloquium and get some background information so that the real talk at 4:00 isn't quite so incomprehensible. (It's also a great opportunity to get free food from the department...) |

Pizza Meetings, Movies, Social Events, and Other Randomness Despite the rumors you may have heard, physics people are actually capable of socializing. On the last Friday of every month Physics Society has pizza meetings where a bunch of people and a professor head over to Papa Del's for phood, phun, and physics. We also occasionally have movie nights where we watch anything from Feynman lectures to Monty Python. |

Our wonderful professors often help keep the classroom interesting by saying remarkable things. Their sayings keep the students alert and interested in the lecture. Here are some collections of things our professors have said. |
