Welcome to the barebones early rendition of PhySoc's EOH 2004 page. Hey, at least it exists now!

Physics Society has a number of exciting projects planned for EOH 2004. All of these projects will demonstrate physics or engineering concepts to visitors in some impressive way. All of them will require plenty of excited people from a variety of backgrounds getting involved for us to build them in time. At this point, the projects have been selected and funded and we are starting on the build leading up to EOH itself on March 12-13. It is definitely not too late to get involved! If you'd like to get involved with building a project, the person to talk to is Lynn.

• Coilgun: Uses a series of wire coils to accelerate a metal projectile.
• Rube Goldberg machine: This year's task: answer a phone.
• Laser Comm: Create an optical link for data transfer between two computers and demonstrate with a simple "instant messaging" application.
• Farnsworth Reactor: A small proton-proton reactor that demonstrates fusion, and education on nuclear energy.
• Pyrophone: Scratch-build a pipe organ-like musical instrument involving much fire...
